Description

album cover i made for my government class. the assignment was to design a CD case with art and track list which reflected the Rights of the Accused.
i called my band "de Jure" which means "by law"
every track represents a right... or something like that...

track explanations:
1- Miranda: miranda laws/rights
2- Delicate youth: children are succeptible to trauma in a courtroom/trial, and thus get special treatment
3- 456: amendments 4, 5, and 6 outline the majority of the accused' rights
4- Lack of Innocence (is not guilt): innocent until proven guilty
5- The Process: the process of trial is complex at best
6- In Dubio pro Reo: roughly, in doubt until proven otherwise
7- Make it Painless, Make it Quick: right to a fair and speedy trial
8- A Fundamental Right: there are basic rights that remain intact even when one is accused of a crime
9- What Is My Crime?: it must be clearly stated what one is being accused of before he/she can be questioned
10- Self Incrimination (calls for a 5th): when giving a testimony that may incriminate one self, one has the right to plead the fifth amendement- which means u can't admit to crimes
11- Give Me Counsel: those accused of crimes have the right to legal counsel
12- Autrefois Acquit (double jeopardy): one cannot be tried for the same crime more than once

BONUS- Fruit of the Poisonous Trees: for evidence which is collected through unlawful means, what the evidence adds to the case becomes less important than how it is obtained, and can not be used. Evidence obtained under this Exclusionary Rule is called "fruit of the poisonous trees."
